Creativity meets technology at the Arcademia Global Game Jam

From 27 February to 1 March 2026, students from multiple universities took part in the Arcademia Global Game Jam, a 48-hour international event founded by Michael Lowen, Matthew Freeman (University of Lincoln), and Dr Lance Bunt (North-West University).

At NWU, 17 Computer Science and Information Systems students participated across the Vanderbijlpark and Potchefstroom campuses. Uhone Teffo won the NWU category with Legend of Penglai, while Bleeding Hearts Studios placed second with Pandora’s Heist.
