NWU AI Ambassador: Lance Bunt
As a Senior Lecturer in the School of Computer Science and Information Systems at North-West University, I see AI not just as a tool but as a methodology. A bridge between my work and the communities I serve.
In teaching and learning, AI helps me design richer presentations, engaging resources, and more cinematic experiences for students. It boosts both productivity and creativity, enabling new approaches that students enjoy and respond to.
Of course, there are challenges: costs, technical learning curves, and resource needs. Yet, the opportunities far outweigh these hurdles. AI is already reshaping higher education—democratising creativity, empowering teachers and students alike, and pushing us to reimagine how learning can happen.
For me, being an AI Ambassador is about stewarding these technologies responsibly, helping colleagues and students harness their potential, and using them to uplift and empower our academic community.
