Panel Discussion @ The NWU Teaching & Learning Conference (2024)

On Thursday, 12 September 2024, at the NWU Teaching & Learning Conference, a panel discussion was held featuring three lecturers and three students. The conversation centred on the intersections between technology and student-centric learning, addressing key questions posed by myself. Benedict, a student, directly responded to these questions from a student’s perspective, discussing the role of digital fluency, the use of technology in enhancing learning experiences, and how personalised, flexible environments benefit students' engagement and learning outcomes. The lecturers also reflected on their roles in navigating these digital ecosystems, balancing the use of technology with pedagogical goals. They emphasized the importance of a reciprocal learning relationship, where educators remain adaptable to evolving trends while ensuring that technology serves to enhance—not dictate—the learning process.
