Prosper Roadshow

Prosper Showcased at Northwest University Roadshow

From July 22 to 26, 2024, Lance and Byron Bunt from North-West University (NWU) conducted a roadshow to introduce their educational card game, Prosper, to local public and private schools. The roadshow visited Mahikeng on July 22, the Vanderbijlpark campus on July 24, and Potchefstroom on July 25. Over twenty schools participated in the event, learning about the game’s potential for integration into social science classrooms [and beyond].

Engagement with Schools

During the roadshow, the Bunt brothers demonstrated how Prosper incorporates the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into its gameplay. The game, designed for players aged 10 to 22, was shown to encourage critical thinking and problem-solving on global issues. The presentations were well-received by both students and educators, highlighting the practical applications of Prosper in educational settings.

Potential for School Integration

The roadshow provided an opportunity for schools to explore how Prosper could be integrated into their curricula, particularly in social science subjects. The game’s approach aligns with educational goals aimed at developing students' understanding of global challenges. The interest shown by the participating schools indicates a strong potential for the game's adoption in classrooms across the region.

Looking Ahead

Following the roadshow, there are expectations for further engagement with schools that expressed interest in using Prosper as a teaching tool. The Bunt brothers plan to continue promoting the game and its educational benefits in other regions.
