FACULTY TEACHING AWARD (2024)

Participating in the Faculty Teaching Award for the Faculty of Natural and Agricultural Sciences at North-West University has been a deeply fulfilling journey, reaffirming my commitment to advancing student engagement and innovative teaching. Receiving this recognition highlights my dedication to fostering a learning environment that not only addresses the challenges of South African higher education but also equips students with essential skills for the evolving tech industry.

Throughout this experience, I showcased my approach to education, which is grounded in a blend of idealism and pragmatism. Integrating game-based learning, AI fortification, and role-specific tasks, I aim to create an active and collaborative space where students are encouraged to think critically and connect theory with real-world applications. The peer and student feedback within my portfolio further underscored the impact of this method, with positive responses emphasizing the structure, clarity, and real-world relevance of my modules.

This award reinforces my drive to continuously improve and innovate. Moving forward, I plan to expand interactive elements in my teaching and explore new digital tools to further enhance the learning experience. I am grateful to the Faculty and the Centre for Teaching & Learning for this recognition and look forward to contributing even more to the future of education.
